I feel like i'm slightly copying Merlin's challenge from a couple week's ago, but this just popped into my head last night. It's a bit different. More strict, I'd say :P

Challenge: 039
Theme: A Book a Day
Directions: Your icon(s) must feature a book, someone reading a book, or anything related to books. But it must have a book visible in the icon

Dose it have to be a theatrical film or can it be a DCOM like Read It and Weep???

sure. tv movies and/or tv shows are great :)

Fairy tales count, right? Anything that was written as a story prior to Disney making it a movie?

yeah. more so to the second question. i think there were a few 'fairy tales' that disney messed with, but i can't think of them so yes.

cinderella showed up in china in the 800s. i don't think disney was around yet, was it? :P
and the brothers grimm wrote snow white.
