(no subject)
i have not posted in very long but mmmkay...yesterday was THE most amazing day. i have had. in a long time.
i woke up at 7[okay, not so fun] and got to school at 8:30 to meet up with my basketball team and the varsity team as well. we all left at 9 to go to the convention center in downtown, where the Special Olympics floor hockey tournament was going dowwwwn. on the way to the Special Olympics, we played perhaps the most amusing game which involves these flashcards that coach frank had. each card says something different ['hello', 'nice legs?', 'learn to drive', 'take the next exit?', 'follow me', 'HONK IF YOU'RE HORNY', 'wanna party?', etc.] you hold them up against the car window and see if people will react to them. obviously, we used 'honk if you're horny' about 29354087587723845 times. XD we got 5 honks [including one from a man driving a children's ice cream truck. 0.o] and one old man gave us a thumbs up. yeeeesh. haha

once we all got to the Special Olympics, we were split into groups and assigned different jobs such as reffing, scorekeeping...etc. our group was Kristina, Ashley, me, Dasha and Kumiko.
we had the best job out of everyone. while the rest of our team was stuck inside writing stuff down, we got to take a group of the athletes from Atlanta and show them around San Diego. most of the athletes in the Special Olympics are disabled in someway and a little older, but our group was 14-17 years old and the most normal people i've ever met. so anyways we decided to show them around seaport village and get some lunch. first of all, the guys were all over us.
and it was flipping awesome. ahhahahha
all of the boys surrounded around ashley because she is gorgeous [duh] and i had some really good conversations with a guy named will and a guy named brendan. we ended up getting sandwiches at a small deli and ate while asking the guys different questions. kristina, ashley and i started talking about music, and since they were from Atlanta, i asked if any of them were into Usher's music. HAHAHA one boy claimed that he was usher's cousin, yet could not remember his last name or where he lived. LMAO after walking back to the convention center, eric and brendan taught us how to breakdance, and THANKTHELORD, i caught some of it on video :D. their game was at 1 so we stayed and cheered for them while random people would often just come up and say hi. i love how everyone is so friendly :). they didn't win their game, but we all told them how great they played and then we got to hang out with them afterwards. brendan asked for kumiko's number but she akwardly changed the subject hahhahahhaha. alas, brendan persisted. we all told kumiko to just give him her number, but she didn't. poohead. eric, carlos, jaquim and i played around with my camera phone and took stupid pictures. *sigh* we had to leave at 3 but we hugged everyone and said goodbye to our new best friends. i can't wait to do this again next year! :D
