I'm afraid so. When I was a clerk in the Army, I got into a good deal of trouble for referring to my predecessor as a black hole of paperwork because any important document she touched (and there was a LOT) promptly vanished. I didn't even think about her race until AFTER they took a chunk out of my ass.
