We must have met through Queerditch years ago. We didn't know each other well, but I'm pretty sure I liked you from the beginning. I was looking forwarded to hearing about your adventures in Japan. My throat starts to hurt when I think about how I'll never get to, or know you better. Sweetheart, you'll be missed.

This is an exact copy of the notice Anj's father, Dinesh, sent me today. Anj's family has set up a memorial scholarship fund, and which I think is just about the best way her life of learning and teaching could be honored. The news about anjenue yesterday was like a punch to the gut. I've started several different LJ entries and abruptly clicked out of the post, even after finishing. I know of Anj only briefly through her more recent posts, but even from just glimpsing at a small part of what was going on in her life,  one knew she was an amazing, very intelligent, very kind person. My condolences to her family, her friends, and her students. She's going to be missed a lot. 

I've been looking at this window for a good while now. Each time I start to type something, I find myself shaking my head a moment later and erasing it. I find myself without words, something that is not quite normal.
