There's a new interview with David Simon up over at ew.com.  It focuses more on Treme, his current series, but he talks about Generation Kill, too.

I'm impressed to learn about the long tail for the DVDs, and it's nice to hear other people who appreciate the series :)

He shouldn't underestimate the power of the Askars either ;) That's what got me to check it out in the first place.

And god, I hope that he will continue to make TV or that they let him because, watching Treme and catching up with The Wire because of GK, I think his work is exceptional quality.

I've only watched bits of The Wire, and none of Treme, but I loved Homicide. It was based on his book and he was a consultant and producer, although I don't think to the same extent as his HBO work.
