Ok, I'm doing it. I'm getting your addresses WAY early this year. If you want a christmas card, let me know! Also, please assume I don't have your address even if you gave it to me last year.

Hi! A lot of beading magazines (Bead & Button for example) have a "basic techniques" section in the back. The basic idea is called wire wrapping. I took a legenth of wire, made a loop, wrapped the wire around itself to create the coils on the side of the bead, slid the bead on the wire and then did the same thing on the other side.

You'll want to get some round nose and flat nose pliers and start with some non-precious metal until you get the feel of it. For that particular anklet, I used sterling siver, glass beads and freshwater pearls. Glass beads are great to work with when you're learning too, because they come in so many interesting colors, sizes, and shapes and are inexpensive.

Most local craft stores will have the stuff you need to get started and they usually sell how-to magazines or books. I bet if you Google 'wire wrapping' or something similar, you will find some guides online. I don't have any bookmarked, or I'd point you in their direction.

Hope that helped!
