My mother informed me today (the day after Malcolm Maclaren's passing, lo, the order of death) that starting next week, Public Image Limited will be touring North America. Wow! I had a PiL sticker on the windshield of my awful first car, but was never a big fan. "Public Image" and "Memories" are classics, though.

Hooray adventures and travel! I'm happy to pass on whatever Chicago advice I have from my work trips there, but I bet you don't want to know where to find the great Cajun food or which dojos are good. Still, hit me up if I can help, and have a wonderful time!

Heaven on Seven. Bring cash -- some of them don't take anything but. There's an architecture tour on the river that's supposed to be excellent. I want to go but have never yet made it. They've got a lovely symphony and that whole few blocks is gorgeous -- Millenium Park and lots of little shops and the like. I'd go see Boys Town, too, just for the fun of it. My favorite local pizza is Edwardo's Natural Pizza, but I understand that this is a topic for daggers at dawn. I saw the science museum, and that was quite decent, but I was mostly there for Bodyworlds.

I may pass on PIL as I don't know their oeuvre very well and I kind of hate big venue shows in general.

However, my bday party will probably be 5/1 if you want to go to the 5/2 show?

You are welcome to crash here and I will give you as much guidance as humanly possible (it will be my first weekend back in the city after Cali so I may be a bit lazy).

Dude, that sounds perfect! I didn't know if they were up your alley or not (and yeah fuck House of Blues as a venue) but I forgot it was your bday party! And I would love to stay with you, so long as you are sure I won't impose - I know you're traveling and might just feel like having downtime alone at home. But I'll be out and about most of the time anyway. Yeah!!
