Hi. Zoe again. I'm thirteen and from... Chicago. In this world. Which is really unexciting when you look at everyone else here (as far as I can tell).

I'm in the city. Not that far from the lake. Not gonna give my address or anything, because you could be a creepy 50 year old man, but... you know. Fun. Um. Actually, mostly school. And trying to keep my brother's dumb dog from eating my cat. My life is boring. Especially compared to everyone else's on the journals.

The weirdest thing I've got is this journal. Someone told me there was probably something going to happen weird, but nothing yet, so I don't know. I wonder what happens when this thing runs out of pages.

Aliens were... alien? I don't know, there are a lot of different kinds. Some of them were nice and some of them were trying to take over the world or something, but... they were just people, really.

I'm Amber. I'm sixteen, was going to get enrolled in school after I moved, but... Well, life's chaotic at the moment. I'm another one of the Main Gauche kids, and there was this whole war between the angels and the demons. It... messed things up.

I'm a native, but it's kinda complicated. No one gets one of these journals if they're just an average person, you know? I'm not an angel or a demon, though, just an earth elemental. (I control dirt with my mind. It's not actually as useless as it sounds, but still not exactly the coolest superpower to have.)

As far as fun... There's a coffee shop near where I used to live -- it's called the Bag O' Beans. Which is lame. But they've got open mic nights and a little outdoor stage in the back. I play guitar there pretty often, still. Other than that, I'm not much help. I just do gardening stuff, which is really boring for people who aren't me. Sorry. :)

Angels and demons.

Real angels and demons.

I forgot to ask Martha about that - what's up with the "real angels and demons" thing? Are they actually angels and demons or are they aliens or something?

They're weird. They're not like in the Bible, and none of them's ever mentioned God or Satan or anything.

From what I've been told, they start out human, and then when they turn sixteen, they change. They get wings, body temperature drops for an angel, and raises for a demon, and... basically it rewrites their entire biology.

But angels aren't always good, and demons aren't always evil. One of the nicest people I know is a demon -- Elashte, the guy that set up the Main Gauche. There was a plague that came through the Rift a while ago and killed my mom and my little brother and he was taking care of people helping with the cure.

And there was this angel, Romana, who was kind of psycho and set on killing all the demons, and she attacked the Gauche, and it was just... It was really bad.

But I've seen demons be horrible too, just like you'd expect. So... Really, they're just people, you know? Only with wings and super-strength and stuff.
