Kotu's comment made me realize how much I love pop music, but hate those making it. I think "Toxic" is a good song, I like most pop punk, but I dont want to listen to it because the people making it fail to represent me in lyircs and person. Now Kotu did once accuse me of listening to mainsttream punk, and he's right, my slightly under the radar

No, I listen to Yo La Tengo and Kite Flying Society because I hear melody and I like it. And the fact that their ethos just happens to coincide with my own only makes it for the better.

I don't identify with blink 182 or Brittney Spears. Yeah, catchy, cute songs but not much substance. I just find it boring.

If you love pop music and hate the people making it then you should listen to pop music being made by people you don't hate. Believe me, there's plenty of it out there, it just tends to sound more like the Beatles or the Beach Boys (a sound I personally prefer) than blink 182 or Brittney Spears but you'll never know until you look and listen around.

Toxic sounds like a bollywood soundtrack.

I wasn't accusing you of listening to these bands to gain status, merley sharing my views, and views I've found of people who do their best to impress guys and gals like you. I've yet to find a pop band with similar ideals as me, and since I prefer screaming to singing for the moment I'll not likley explore pop music as the pop which is screamed nowadays is closer to Thrice and Thursday, bands of which I'm not fond. I appreciate the imput, and please understand this is not an attack. That said I'm a better person then you because I like poopier music, and it's ti
