Why is comparative information on all presidential candidates as hard to find as a snowball in hell? Why isn't the winner of the popular vote the president? Why does the president have so little power, but so much popularity? How many people with "these colors don't run" stickers know the candidates for the upcoming election better then athletes, ( Read more... )

I'd say the obvious answer to most of your questions joe is that most people in america are idiots (and by idiots i mean rednecks that care more about their firearms than the welfare of the people). As far as why celebrities not getting envolved... if you announce your loyalty to a candidate the people that aren't for that candidate will not support your celebrity any longer (in whichever field it is) so it's as good as commiting career suicide and since money is the desire of most celebritys they keep their rich mouths shut. I think it's a shame that in a time where church and state have no reason to be mated we have a born again in the white house. But fer not for there is no doubt in my mind than many young people will be coming out to vote this election after what happened the last time. I am publicly stating (despite knowledge of the patriot act and the fact that my ballot may be "lost" in the mail) that I'll be voting for Kerry not because I have any particular affinity to his stances but because, for now, we need Bush out of ( ... )

With in God we trust on our money, and Gay marrige on our lips, it is only growing more obvious that chruch and state are not seperate. Arguments against the union of homosexuals cite the bible at all times, as if it were the document bearing our rights. Bob, I appreciate the lesson in politics. I believe that if all votes are to mean something, people shouldn't have to move to another state to make a diffrence (not that it would), and now i see more then ever how we are robbed of the alloted civil liberties we brought to this nation so many years ago(once we killed all the indians). Dave, I will not cast a vote until I know all I need to about the candidates. I'm sick of having people represent the lesser of two evils, and not their candidate of choice, and while I can respect playing the get Bush gone game, I refuse to respect the get Bush gone game. Vote for he who represents you or dont vote at all. Voting for Nader, takes a vote away from both candidates, and seeing as many young people share your sentiments, I have faith in your ( ... )
