You know why dorks, and my bretheren aren't happy? We spend our days and nights comsuming information. The capital of India sustains us, the new/old band revitalizes, the wage of a hong kong nike factory worker shows us the light, and the punk rock/video game/leagalize it/fuck the system/he's dating her scene gives us something to live for. Fuck ( Read more... )

If there is one thing I have learned between the beginning of high school and now, it's that some people can take being told something straight with no bullshit, and that these people should get just that. With that in mind:

Bad things happen when good people stand by and do nothing. To give up on something you believe in out of...what I can only sum up as fatigue based on this entry, is playing the fool's card. So go Joe, and stand on the sidelines.

And before you turn around and reply with some wiser-than-though, I've experienced more and know it's better to just give up, diatribe, save it. It will be as a firework display to a blind and deaf audience.

P.S.: You're still my friend, so no, I'm not ashamed of you or disappointed in you (I kinda forgot which one you asked, if I was ashamed of you or disappointed in you, so I'ma go with both) ;)

Fwiw, I always thought that firework analogy was a bit funny. I mean, you can feel fireworks going off, so they'd know something was up...

But in seriousness, Joe, you and I have had conversations like this many times before. And as usual our ends would look similar but means would differ. I would argue that nothing solves anything and that knowledge is misery and that pop culture is pointless. And I am a man who loves his hedonism. But I also think compassion is gratifying. There are people that find helping others to be fun. Granted when the media glazes it over with it's standard bullshit everything looks cheap. I agree, why would anyone do anything that isn't fun? But at the same time, there has to be some reason why so many people try to be miserable. And if you can figure out what that reason is, then you can put the cure on the market and never have to work again. Then you do things just because they're fun. But I think the problem lies in structure. There is so much shit between you and the things you want to do that it's more convenient to give up and say "fuck the paper work" and live in your "wants" and your "somedays". The truth is that you and I ( ... )

bob, i'm saying i'm sick of the sidelines. i found out theres nothing i want to work for in those departments. I'm going to make my own happiness. fuck the world punk is trying to "save". And though i appreciate that your not ashamed or disapointed in me, that was more so directed at my mom. Ben your definition of hedonsim is smoking whether or not your dad wants you to. mine is buying a gun and shooting people i dont like because it makes me feel better. rather than being caught up in a beuracracy i refuse to agknowlege it's existance, because i dont like it. thats why our conversations often force me to contradict myself. thats why it was so easy to cut whoever wanted to be cut out from my life. if i dont like something and it doesn't impeade my life's course of actions, it doesn't exist. and why would you argue for my points when i already did?

sorry if that came off mean. heres some more. This is me venting. I hope nothing i have said will say, or typed will ever impact anyone's life, and be always as a fireworks stand for the blind and deaf, or a fool's card player. I am not your role model. I've helped others, when doing so i feel guilty that i'm wasting my time , or it's for hedonistic purposes.
