It was nice to be home again, even under these circumstances. I brought Willow here to not only learn from the coven, but to find her true self again. And hopefully help her understand that the magic is a part of who she is now, good and bad. That in all things, there is a balance. Something I had to learn a long time ago ( Read more... )

I was walking across the field lost in thought when my steps halted, I had thought I heard my name called and carried upon the wind. Raising a hand to shield my eyes from the sun as I looked to the distance ahead of me. A gentle smile broke when my gaze fixed on Giles and I started walking once more toward where he sat on top his horse. Tara had mentioned once about her love for horses and the way she enjoyed going for rides on them back in the town she had been born in. I still think of them as huge beasts who would just look for the opportunity to nip at you when you were least expecting it. Yes, I still had a fear for the large, four legged creatures.

"Giles," giving a gentle wave as I called out to him with a smile. The distance between us slowly closing.

I smiled, and galoped towared her. "I thought I might find you out here today. How are you?"

I looked at her, some strain in her face. Worry. But no signs of black in her hair.

She was Willow. I just wondered if she knew what that meant.

"How are you?"

"Nervous, worried, half of me wanting to just remain here and not face what I need to face." Glancing up to Giles still astride his horse I gave him a light smile. It was more of a fear of who I would have to face again once I returned to Sunnydale.

My body suddenly froze, terror engulfing my whole being. Trembling, gasping for air as I sank to the ground on my knees, my fingers gripping tightly to the grass beside me. I felt it, a great evil, it was everywhere.

I quickly jumped down from the horse, sliding to the ground, and pulling Willow up, so I could get my arms around her.

"What is it?" I said gently, waiting until she could tell me what the problem was.
