It had been hot in the desert, hot and dry and I could feel the sun even though I was in the night. The sun constantly waiting, like a predator, to gnaw away my skin and bones and eat me up. Maybe I wanted it. The end, the nothing. Better than the pain. She made me weak, the bitch, first by making me love her, then by dying, then by coming back. I ( Read more... )

Talk about being nervous on the first day. I dont think I have ever felt this nervous about anything. I had told myself just for Buffy sake, that I would scope out the basement on lunch time. Like I was going to eat Cafeteria. My eyes scoped the hallway before opening the basement door. Quickly, I walked down the basement stairs and took out my flash light. Now it wasnt my idea about having a flashlight in my bag but it is a good idea to have one now. Turning it on, I looked around the basement.

"Nothing so far.." I said quietly. When I moved my flashlight over to one area, I jumped when I saw Spike. I just knew something was going to come out at me. Or I would find something. Staying put, I shined the flashlight in his area.

"Spike?"

Creaking sounds in the dark. Another thing come to bother me. Another boy, girl, man, child I killed, pale face gleaming down and saying bad bad Spike, how do you ever expect to be loved?

but wait

"I didn't kill you," I said, looking up at the familiar face. "So why are you here? Makes no sense." I turned away.

I watched him turn away. Taking a chance, I stepped closer to him. I lowered the flashlight before looking at him again. He wasnt himself. Maybe him leaving town made him kinda crazy?

"Of course, you didnt kill me. Spike, Why are you down in the basement?"

Once I got close enough, I crouched down abit to get a better look at him. Buffy was going to love this.

"Basement?" I blinked at her. "Is that what they call hell these days?" I laughed for a while until the sound made me feel sick.

"Go on, go away. If you're alive, you shouldn't be down here with the dead. Can't you feel them?" I shivered, pressing a hand to my chest. I could feel the spark burning in me. A cold flame.
