for a couple years now, delicious has been my most regular, prolific and public fannish expression - due to a combination of being busier and more focused on other writing, i was rarely posting more than a list of "stories i should write" here on LJ. but i read a ton - new fandoms, new-to-me fandoms, old favorites. and the busier i got, the more i ( Read more... )

I moved to pinboard. I'm pissed enough at AVOS to spend <$10, and the diigo TOS made me nervous.

I too am sad, cuz delicious was the site I used the most consistently & for the longest time (aside from maybe google).

I've heard some people throw around Mister Wong, but right now it seems like more are going to Diigo, and since half the reason for using the site is being able to search other user's tags, Diigo does seem like the way to go.

i'm far too lazy transfer everything, so i will sit here patiently waiting for delicious to FIX ITSELF, damn it. :\

but in the meantime, regarding the / issue, this tweet was RT'd on my feed: for pairings on new Delicious, replace / by a dot: "frank.gerard" brings up results tagged "frank/gerard". it seems to work! so at least there's that.

I'm hesitant to buy into a paid site until I see how it all shakes out, but I have at least imported at Diigo and am going to play around a bit. What a clusterfuck!

I've gotten an account at pinboard, mostly because of how much the owner has impressed me with his respect and humor. Like, I feel like I'm making an ideological choice by buying an account there. Plus, I just imported my bookmarks and they look so much like how they used to, it's very reassuring! No tag bundles and I need to rebuild my network, but YES, I can search on global tags again! I'm no longer alone in the universe!

That said, if delicious fixes itself and fandom remains there, realistically-speaking I'll probably still be there too because social bookmarking depends on having a like-minded community of a certain size. (But, I admit, I feel like pinboard is unlikely to screw us due to a deliberate or absentminded lack of understanding in how we operate and that's...refreshing.)
