I feel sorry for women in a sense, that feel like they need to press against male tirany of some kind. I think where you all lost your way though was demanding something that was already yours. It's created this horrid idea of "feminism" and honestly feminism makes me sick. Why are you trying to justify your actions with this "my body, my choice" ( Read more... )

I'm a little confused as to who you're actually targeting here; you've included a blanket disgust for feminism and labelled them as sluts when the arguments you're including really only involve some feminists, and there are many other facets to feminism, such as feminists standing up against rape culture, etc. So yeah I guess this post just confused me a bit.

I do also feel as though there is a double standard when it comes to women; men sleep around and nobody bats an eyelid but women sleep with a guy and suddenly they're a whore. But I agree that if they want to do it they should just do it.

Anyway I've probably completely misunderstood.

Yeaaaah. I don't make much sense when I'm annoyed. And I did blanket/generalise alot. I do that when I'm angry, too. I needed to get it out, but thanks for brining the slut thing to my attention. I probably should take that out as it wasn't what I really mean't ( ... )

All good, like I said I probably didn't get all of it.

And with rape culture I agree that women should have a little decorum, but the issue isn't so much whether or not women wear the right thing but that regardless of this it has become the woman's fault for being raped: she was drunk, she was wearing a short skirt, she was walking to the shops alone at night... When really, it is not women that make men rapists.

Sexual equality I think is definitely much less of an issue now. My main concern was that you were blanket-hating on all feminists when the main issue was with a few that still make a big deal out of something you consider obsolete. I have quite a few feminist-friends who are fighting for things that are still prominent and important in society today.

Feel free to link me :)

Although I think I do understand your underlying point here, (being that we shouldn't need to ask/gain permission/rights to do something, we should JUST DO IT), I am quite offended at the blanket attack on feminism. (I also don't agree with your interpretation of "my body, my choice", but let's just agree to disagree on that.)

I understand that you personally don't support several ideas associated with feminism, but that is in no way feminism in its entirety. I consider myself to be a very feminist person, especially in the terms of workplace equality (I work in a field that is 90% men), and it kind of feels like a slap in the face when you post something this.

I'm not sure, maybe you just wrote this post in anger and it didn't come across 100% clearly, but I would hope you understand that feminism has many different sides and it isn't something you should put down as a whole because you disagree with one part.

Anyway, just my two cents.

I can see that you are offended by my post and thank you for telling me in a very calm manner ( ... )

WOW, sorry for the huge post!

Also, I just wanted to say thank you for replying, even though I offended you un-intentionally.
