"Stark, just calm down."
"Don't tell me to calm down, Carter."
"I'm sure there is a logical explanation for this."
"Yes, you drove her away!"
"I didn't drive her away, you drove her away."
"I'm not the one fighting over something that isn't mine."
"Well she isn't yours ether."
"She's more mine than she will ever be yours, Carter."
It was at that moment that something inside of Jack cracked, and his body flung itself forward without consulting the brain at any point. It flung itself into Stark, fist raised, until it landed painfully on Stark's jaw. The rage didn't leave him until he heard a massive crack, and felt the blood run onto his hands. It was in that moment that they were interrupted.
"There you are!" Henry exclaimed.
Dr. Stark felt his jaw tenderly and glared at Carter. He would deal with him in a minute. "What's going on Henry?"
Henry looked at them both in turn, disapointment evident on his face. "You'll both have to come with me."
They stood together; sure they were both in trouble for fighting. Neither of them suspected it would be much more serious than that.
They followed Henry out of the room, and Stark was the first to speak "he hit me."
Henry said nothing to this, and continued to look at them both disapprovingly. Then his demeanour changed. It was no longer disapointment he felt towards them, it was pity. "There's been an accident..."
The men looked at each other, unsure of what to say next, or whom to say it to.
"Henry..." Jack was pressing him for an answer.
"It's Allison..." He trailed off yet again, unable to speak the words.
"What happened Henry, tell us now." Stark said, his voice rising with every word.
"She's dead, okay! Your fighting...she left...wanted to get away from you...crashed." It was all he could manage.
The men could do nothing but stare at each other blankly.
What had they done?
