Considering the barbaric nature that I've come to hear about in this town, if you can even call it as such, I was rather pleased with the court proceedings. I'm unfamiliar with the concept of trial without a jury, but I do believe you pulled it off rather well, Mr. Edgeworth. Considering that we have a small population to begin with, I'm not entirely sure that trial by jury would be effective myself! I'd almost forgotten how exciting law can be!

You were really cool!

We had considered a full jury, but we decided for the time being, it wouldn't have worked out well. The population is too small - there'd be far too many biased judgments as of now. We simply aimed to use the facts. Of course, in this situation, it wasn't enough - considering we don't have access to any forensic materials to properly examine crime scenes. But I would say it's a sufficient start.

Thank you for your input, Ms...?

Simpson! Lisa Simpson!

I was completely unfamiliar with the case heading in, so I wasn't aware of the lack of forensic materials. There are ways to take fingerprints without a kit, though. If you use tape and pencil lead, I mean. Of course, you'd still need ink to keep records for classifying, but that's a no-brainer.

Mr. Wright was really cool, too! Are there going to be any more trials? I'd like to help with rebuilding the courthouse, too! I'm only eight, but I can still help a little, right?

A pleasure, Ms. Simpson.

The unfortunate truth is that we are limited in such supplies, and often, the scenes are tampered with before we have a chance to get on the scene. Of course, these are all issues we're working to fix. Seeing as you weren't aware of the situation, I'd presume you're new in the city, yes?

There will indeed be more trials in the future. Sooner, rather than later. We're in the process of investigating a couple of cases now. I don't see why not, so long as you don't push yourself too hard.

The proceedings went quite well. I'm glad. Hopefully such co-operation will continue.

I'm glad to see you agree. I'm hoping that things will go as smooth in the future as well.

He was found not guilty by the courts, but was he guilty? They are not always the same thing.

The Prosecution believes he is guilty, however, the evidence provided was not sufficient enough to break the sound alibi of the defendant and one of the witnesses.

It doesn't require evidence to be guilty.

It requires proving beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant is guilty.

[it takes a long time for him to answer; it's obvious that there's a lot on his mind. When he finally does, he sounds tired-- and strangely defeated.]

You too, Edgeworth. Looks like... it's a success, huh? [he sucks in a breath, as though he wants to say something else, but he doesn't for now.]

Indeed it was. Your efforts got the 'not guilty' verdict you sought - as per usual. [Here, have a pause.] Something else troubling you, Wright?

... if I'm honest about it, something doesn't feel right.

It's quite alright, Mr. McDohl. I'm sure you were busy. There's always the next trial.

Well, not busy, really...

Either way, such things happen. It's not a problem.
