thankfully, i don't think it's just you.
everyone has some form of this conflict in them, but we all frame it in different ways (the smart ones of us, at least.)
I oscillate between those two all the time.
but I firmly think that it's ultimately this conflict (when controlled) which leads us to creaitivty and productivity, as long as we don't get caught up with really believing or thinking that we can answer these questions. we can't; they're unresolved. but let the two sides chase each other enough to make each other react. therein lies the kooky balance, and creativity, and even hope.

too bad all my attempts to build something positive lead straight to me rushing to the toilet
mind you, it's not like i'm actually using the can (which i simply don't anymore)
i just sit on it, head in my hands, crying for hours
mind you, it isn't a sorrowful crying, either
nay, it's a joyful tear i shed for life is wonderful in my bathroom
just wonderful
oh please end my hell
i'm helping you aim the shotgun at my head like at the end of 'the fly'.

aren't you glad i'm letting you see the real me?

also, have you seen the nina hagen wax statue at madame tussauds in berlin? http://community.livejournal.com/ninahagen_daily/73681.html#cutid1
