It really seems that in some circles you arbitrarily get a lot of some sort of weird metal-nerd street-cred for liking The Dillinger Escape Plan. So, being on the inside emo and craving acceptance like sweet oxygen, I gave it a shot; I tried listening to different tracks, on different albums, to get a feel for the band

I agree. I like songs that seem to be composed of a couple of "mini songs," because that keeps it interesting. "Chop Suey" by SoaD comes to mind. But when it's _all_ constantly changing, I get bored pretty fast.

I wonder what J would think of those guys?
