Ok, so after two days in Shropshire, I got home and finished watching Luke Cage (as you do...). I enjoyed it, and again, as with all the Marvel Netflix series, it has it's very own character.
They really are running with the 'Clare Temple to connect them all' thing. I kinda, well I still haven't finished Daredevil season 2 and the references to that seemed more like they needed explanation than the references they made in Jessica Jones.....so Clare's intro here was a little more clunky.
I liked how it grew, but I struggled a little with the time frame of the progression of their relationship but eh.
It's interesting that this is the only one that didn't finish? Things weren't wrapped up (no one was actually locked up? And apparently his mad bro is going to get supped up too?) and it had a dark edge to it. AND it's the only one that felt like it was purposely setting up for one of the others (Misty and Clare both got their nods into Iron Fist). Even with Luke being in Jessica Jones it didn't feel like the set up for this when you were watching.
I loved the fact it had almost entirely no white cast. It was exactly what it needed to be, and it is Harlem, and you got the full range. There were heroes, villians and normal people, all well rounded.
It was interesting and it was very different.
