Not to say that I know what to do in your situation, but I can suggest a few things that you probably already considered. I would partly cheat on your essays by plagerising other sources sparingly, but then always citing them at the end. It's not cheating if you cite it all properly, then just spend a few sentences to a paragraph talking about what you just cited. Second, I know what you mean about being a prisoner in your own home. I'm sure you could find a place near campus that's not too expensive. Perhaps take out a student loan and let them know that it's to cover your off-campus living expenses.
You probably already thought of all that, but I'll just say it in case you didn't entirely. Good luck Brooke.
It's a thought... About the loans, though. I can't get loans, because technically I have the money. I just can't USE it. Believe me, when it comes to the money I've tried just about everything aside from theft and murder.
Could you get a roommate in a different place? That's the first thing I did when I moved out. I actually lived in a duplex with 9 other people. It was pretty crazy but it was a fun experience. And you get super cheap rent, too, so you hardly have to work--I paid around $200 a month, I think, and that's good for living in a house. You could start by looking in the classifieds for apartments or houses for rent with roommates.
It just seems like the major problem is you living at home with your mom, and there needs to be steps taken so that you can move out as soon as possible. Once you move out she will hopefully lessen her grip on your life and you can live it the way you want it to.
on that note, co-ops are even cheaper... sketchy and weird yea but i think the lorax is 200ish for room and food, which seems like you could make it work alone
( ... )
I've been, if not where you're at in a parallel situation and it blows. There's no easy way out, but sometimes there is a relatively quick way out. A sudden change in how you go about everything, if even for a short time, can really seriously change things. You could take 3 days and only enter your room to sleep. Spend the rest of the time at work, at the library, at the gym, walking and thinking. The more productive what you're doing is the better you'll feel when your time is up. And like I said, this isn't an easy fix. I know when you're in a funk like you are that breaking your routine and especially doing something that's really GOOD for you is ridiculously tough, one of the hardest things you can do. So... good luck.
