i'm currently working on a time machine that takes you back to 1964. i haven't figured out how to get it to france, though.

I always wondered about that in time travel movies. I would imagine that a time machine would take you back in time but as it is not a "space machine" you would not change location at all. Thus, you'd be back in 1964 but in the same spot.
Question is: same location relative to what? If we're talking universal location (which I suspect would be the case), you'd be floating around in space somewhere because the Earth and the stars and the galaxies and such are certainly not in the same place now as they were in 1964. Space is cool and all but I think I'll pass on the suffocation thing.
