So I'm doing REALLY well with packing so far. I've packed all of the clothes I want to bring (which is about six or seven blouses, four tank tops, five skirts, two pairs of pants, a dress, a light jacket, several scarves, tights, a hat, and dress shoes) and my suitcase is barely half full. OK, cool, it looks like I can bring up to a kilogram of food of non-animal origin. So the popcorn and preserves are OK but the Amish egg noodles are probably out...

As a Britisher, I feel I have to warn you that a cab between Heathrow and Gatwick is going to cost nearly a hundred quid! Are you sure about that?

Yes, I know! Like I said, it's still less than the next ticket, and it'll save me a lot of worry.

And there's always a slim but not wholly impossible possibility of catching the Stephen Fry cab. Now there's a roller coaster ride. Or polite chat about interesting stuff that you didn't know before.
