I don't really get the Cassie Claire wank in this venture, but this happened years before fandom was anything I even knew about... so what do I know?

Because CC had her apartment broken into (supposedly) and her friends organized donations to buy her, her roommate and her boyfriend new laptops. And because she was such a huge BNF, they made THOUSANDS of dollars.

And like, of course CC would claim it wasn't her idea or whatever. But, she did shit like that all the time and was very manipulative about it. She got an iPod, she got trips to conventions, etc. for free and new laptops for her whole household because people were so obsessed with her shitty plagiarized fics.

So. UGH. She's horrible. And the whole thing is just tacky.

I am glad you had a great, mishap-free, holiday! :D (And also, I have had people who actually ASK me the "how can you afford it" question. I always say, I save my money and its also none of your business, so I get why you might jump on the defence about it, people are rude)
