a full tank would equal over $110 dollars.

Damn, you had me ready to pull up roots a minute ago and move to wherever they were filling up! It's costing me over $100 to fill up mine every time these days too and I don't even have the cool factor going with my monstrosity of a mini-van *g*

Fun story and very refreshing in this post s3 finale time ;).

I left the story's setting intentionally vague exactly because gas prices fluctuate from place to place and day to day. Here in Alabama, it's still generally below four a gallon, but in other areas, it's closer to five already. So I had them somewhere in the middle.

Yeha, light humor is my motif, and I think it's refreshing in what can be quite the Debbie Downer of genres.

I'm in Canada so we're pricing by the litre but it's damn pricey. I usually pay with a debit card and, unlike with credit cards, the pumps will max them out at $100.00. Which means I'm rarely filling my tank entirely these days since it carries over a 100 litres.

I have often thought about the cost of driving the Impala since I know what it's like to drive a boat, even if it's not a classic. Alas, I need mine for practical reasons so I pretty much ignore the gas prices and do what I gotta do. Dean? He needs his baby even more. It's home after all ;).

And I also have before. I've written two previous stories in the last year. LOLZ! I have no idea why I did that.

Awww, poor Dean. I can sympathize. My vehicle has a 40 GALLON tank. I absolutely never fill it up.

How can you, you know? I can't remember the last time I put more than $20 in my tank. Which probably explains why I so often have to stop...

this conversation is so very them, i love it. "I don't ever want to hear that bullshit roll out of your mouth. Ever. Again." - heeeee. and the kidney-selling crack. and it's a good thing the impala doesn't need high-test....

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it. And yeah, the premium would kill them for sure.

I love the Impala but I can't help but sympathise with Dean. We are paying the equivalent of $6.25 a gallon here now (or $1.65 a litre). When I bought my small 4 cyl it cost $35 to fill (6 years ago), now it's close to $70.

Dear God -- that's gotta hurt. I sometimes see reports on the evening news about how much higher gas prices are overseas, and it's shocking.
