Fic!

Aug 23, 2005 08:36

Today is my beloved jlh's birthday, and so I have finished this fic that I started for her back in June to celebrate Clio Day. This is not HBP compliant, although it's post-Hogwarts so it's not obscenely so.

Happy birthday, dear Clio, and I will see you in a few hours!

Rosencrantz & Guildenstern on the Seven Seas [Seamus/Dean, PG-ish] )

You always have the best titles.

I still think the boat is some kind of sexual metaphor.

It is meant to represent their unbridled passion for wood.

Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh thank you so much!

I love the cameos, HAHAH.

I love that it's normal and it's all about getting back to normal, and the way they talk to each other and I always love being in Seamus's head (it's odd, so much S/D is from Dean's perspective) and how he works through his mini issue.

But mostly, yay! Thank you so much! yay!

Hooray! >:D< Is a lot of S/D from Dean's perspective? I'd feel strange trying to go from Dean's, although I'm not sure why as it's not like we really know much more about Seamus than him.

OMG YOU FINISHED IT!!!!!!!!! I'm so happy!!! I love all the parts with Dean's family, I think they are what I really love about this fic. They feel so charmingly normal (way more than the Dursleys/Dudley's friends, which are our main examples of Muggles) and right yet still feel like they could be in the HP books themselves because they seem just that bit whimsical. I don't know, I like this so much more than if they'd automatically moved into some silly flat in Hogsmeade together, living on the money Dean's paintings bring in. This just feels more real for them.

I like it all very much indeed :(( I'm so glad you finished it!

:D Thank you! I was not sure what to do about Dean's family because I was so unsure about the whole father/stepfather thing.

I just found this fic randomly and I think it's gorgeous! People so often write Seamus/Dean just... wrong. But I love the way you've captured them and particularly all those nice muggle details like the TV and the towels.

Thanks so much! I love your username. I've picked up that book a few times at the bookstore, debating about it because the title and name are just so pretty.

This is lovely -- of course it would feel weird to shift back to the real world after everything, especially for those who were Muggleborn, and I like how you capture that sense of offkilterness and balance it with sweetness when it counts. I very much love the very end.
