Thoughts on Men

I have little to nothing against men. I have three loving brothers, without whom I would not be the person I am today, an awkward, tactless father who possibly has Asbergers and/or ADHD, several doting uncles, some of my most trusted friends are male, and I love making out with men ( Read more... )

I have theories on this.

Obviously, testosterone plays into this heavily. I believe that is the "piss and vinegar" that makes young men enthusiastic about dying in a war.

There is a LOT of behavior that is learned. We may never know the extent of one effect over the other; how much is body chemistry and how much is learned behavior? I personally think there is way more which is learned than otherwise.

My sister has done a lot of facepainting. She will tell you that for every seven boys she paints, one of them will actually sit still. She says the girls are much better at being still.

Sure, testosterone has it's effects. Perhaps there is a mothering instinct in women that reminds them to stay away from the danger that males seem to run toward.

We could talk sometime. Maybe this fall even. (:
