Remembering what qualities
I had when I was
Young, I reveal a side
Of myself that I
Dare not speak out loud.

Thinking that you
Were someone that I
Loved, someone that I
Have lost.

I still think that
I had something to do
With what made me who
I am today.

Having the courage to say something,
You make your voice very loud and full.
Saying that there was time.
Saying that there was a place for everything.

Could you have been more wrong?
The time that was spent on that river bank,
Were precious moments that I cannot obtain.
The time that was spent over you is something,

That I cannot relive.

They float along the river bank
Their heads in a permanent state
The bodies of birds
The minds of men.

Bowed heads they swim
Lowered necks of pride
As if to say 'Excuse me...'
When they are drifting by.

In vain is where I kept you
There are many times when
The mirror was my best friend
And the voices in the glass were true.

I cannot make a move without
You standing right behind me,
Making my thoughts turn to ice
And making my heart burst in fire.
