*kicks fanfiction.net*

That stupid site is getting on my nerves. Dear *GOD* but does it keep on messing up whenever I try and upload IFO Chappie 10 [which, I named Chappie 9...since I forgot what chapter I was on]. That site, is getting on my last nerve.

Like...why are we no longer even allowed to mention FF.NET in the fics? It automatically ( Read more... )

*cringe* The Pit of Voles strikes again! bobbissimo March 7 2005, 16:32:34 UTC
I HATE ff.net!! I haven't posted anything on that site in months. ^^;

That's got to be the stupidest website EVER. A new day, an new rule. Pretty soon, an story rated above G will be too dirty; no cussing aloud in fics; no adding new chapters; no Yaoi; no.... you think of something, LOL.

The worst part is that [to my knowledge, anyway] there aren't really any other site that are as forward with the archive format for archived stories. *RAWR* What I wouldn't do for a fanfiction-nety yaoi archive. The thing that irritates me the most is that the ones who are complaining are the readers.

Hello!! Why on this earth are you reading material you know you won't like?! That makes ABSOLUTELY no sense! I remember the good ol' days when everything was allowed [*whistles* You know...those NC-17s that everyone read regardless...]

*sighs*
If only...

*nodds* I agree. FF.Net is getting ridiculous but it's the only place I can find some of the stuff I like. *shakes fist at it* I need my Ran/Ken stuff to survive. ;__;

I hate fanfiction.net. v_v I vowed to never post there again. It gets on my nerves and it messes with my story's format, just as it had done with yours, what with the deleting their name from fics, etc. It does that in reviews too, yanno. ::sigh:: It's just messed up.

Yes, work on your site so we can boycott ff.net. It's just gone to hell. ::shakes head::

It used to be *SO* cool, too!
I remember {WAAAAAAAAAAAAY BACK WHEN} you could read WHATEVER you wanted. And, like I mentioned to Sonkikyo...the worst part is that the people who complain [and ff.net sides with, inevitable] are the readers. As if they *FREAKIN* post stories there. *twitches*

These are injustices against the authors. We should join a union and strike.

Yes we should. ::nods:: The readers complain and they get what they want. Maybe we, the writers, should do that too. We need to take a stand somewhere...

You do know of AdultFanFiction.net, don't you? For your yummy adult stuff? ^_^ That's the only site like ff.net that I've found so far. I've been eversearching of others. v_v

Omfg!! >< I hate FF.Net. I wouldn't care if their were a better place for people to post their fanfiction elsewhere (like the RanKen community which is dead and devoid of life, save for about two or three people), but like you said, there is nowhere with as good of an archiving system as FF.Net. Damnit, if anyone ever finds a place that we have all just been miraculously over-looking for the past few years, please don't leave me in the dark.

Arg! *Turns up Dir en Grey music and angsts* I'm too angry to write without killing off one of my characters or something. >

Oh yes! And hurrah for a new chapter! I'm all happy again now! ^_^

As for the yaoi-archive, I am totally in support of this. It would be an awesome project to start. I would love to see all the wonderful anti-yaoi flames that would get (so much fun to read). But, hey! Gundam Wing used to have an anti-yaoi archive site (really well done, too, if only it weren't anti-yaoi). The only thing is, someone would have to be inspired enough to purchase the site, the programs and servers to run it, and actually know how to do all of it.

A RanKen or just a general Yaoi fan-ring would be awesome, too. There's one out there, somewhere, I'm sure, but I know not where.

I look for updates on your site every once in a while, but I never see them. *Never updates her site either* If you do, let me know!

(Woah, I'm talking a lot today. x_x)

*ponders if someone slipped something in Seph's juice*

I swear I have carpal tunnel. Ehh...it hurts to type [whadda ya expect after 30 pages of random text]. I'm sure we could find someone to do that for us [we're so VERY special, aren't we?]

I've never actually gotten an anti-yaoi flame...I've gotten lots of death-threats in regard to my never updating my fics [XD....I'm horrible with deadlines]. Let's see...updates...^_^ Hopefully I'll do that...SOON. I'm waiting for my biology test to be over [and have the next one...3 days later? Gah!] so that I can start transferring. I already moved the ficcies to my FLASHDRIVE so that I can work on them in my dad's compy [where the rest of the site is...]

Hopefully, I'll make progress. ^_^
So...ya liked the ficcy??? *BEAMS*

Never received a flame?! o_o Wow.

The ones I used to get (I haven't gotten any for my WK stuff, but when I used to write GW I did) were just pointless little anti-yaoi complaints, but they amused me. I love it when people flame about such pointless things as "Yaoi is so wrong! EW! How can you write this! You're sick!" Like people are really going to change their writing or be hurt because some faceless person somewhere in the world doesn't like the idea of Heero and Duo being romantically involved. ^^ How cute.

First off, author's were already bashing the site here and there so maybe they figured that removing their name from fics protects them. It's not a dictatorship, even if it may seem like one, because

- the authors WILLINGLY sign up to be a member
- they agree to the contract of rules & regulations (which most don't even read)
- they are using FFN as a site to promote their work and to honour the fandoms to which they belong to

There's a lot of crap fics out there, and a lot of plagarism and other stuff to manage. The staff are almost always flooded with reported bugs and trying to improve the site's editing features is going to take some beta'ing, something that the authors will just have to put up with.

Running a site that so many people frequent is not fun at all. Look at Rose's job, I'm amazed to see BI running for so long.

*Nods* I get your perspective--and on a totally random side note--BI is <3
It *is* hard to run a site without inflaming some person or other's feelings, but it just makes me feel a little *GRR* sometimes.

Nothing personal, though. Props to the site for even bothering
