A Generic Update

Feb 21, 2011 20:44

Well, I promised I would post a pic of the model for the mask and here it is.

Darn photo made me do a double-take at some things. I can totally see where things are a bit 'off' on it (wonky nose/lopsided muzzle) and I have a lot of cleaning up to do but it looks really neat. There are breathing holes for the nose and mouth that need to be embiggen'd.

What I want to know from folks is: Should I make this costume-specific? Like for just one type of outfit? Or should this be left as generic as possible for a variety of costuming needs?

If I leave it kinda of generic, I could sell these to Endless Forest/ Princess Mononoke fans pre-primed, sanded and prepped for them to use in anyway they want. I have a 23" head-face-thing (no, my forehead is not that long.. the mold stretched a bit on the top).. it should fit most adults. Going to cast it out of resin or maybe Smooth Cast® 300 liquid plastic, if I can find it. Excited? Yes I am.

Also, DINOSAURS! I want that Charles H. Sternberg book, The Life of a Fossil Hunter. It seems fossil-fever has got me securely in it's clutches.
