Another Countdown to Squee

Doing another countdown to squee.  Not because things are bad, jut because there should always be squee. :) (Although I do have the hiccups at the moment and that could use some Squee.

1) Suits started re-airing Season 1 last night so for the first time I have Harvey and Mike on my TV screen and not just my computer.  It also means that tonight they ( Read more... )

Squeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!

You're absolutely right, there should always be squee :)

I'm actually very, very exited about the 1940s US Census! My grandfather and his brothers went to the States in 1906. I would really like to learn more about what happened to them after my grandfather returned home. I know they lived in San Francisco and LA, designing and building homes.

Suits!! Avengers!! Oh, Canada!! \o/

Friday night...best night of the week :D

:)

If you ever want help with getting the LA info, let me know. I'm planning on making several visits to the downtown library to get info about my family as well.

Fridays are AWESOME!!

I'd love to come closer to you for a visit as well at some point. I really do need to get back to Europe. My problem is, I always want those trips to be MONTHS instead of weeks.

Oh, wow, thank you! I'll find out their full names and birth dates :)

Meeting up would be great! If you don't have much time over here, we could meet up in London, with Xanthe :D

I love doing this type of research so no problem whatsoever. :) You can email me any info you have and in the next couple of weeks I'll head down to the library. My understanding is that their records are pretty extensive.

I am stupidly excited over the census. While I've had LOTS of luck with researching my husband's family, the sources for looking further into mine have pretty well dried up and while I keep looking in new and different places it's mostly been for naught. But the census will be AWESOME for confirming and finding new folk!

One of the major gaps I have is my maternal grandfather's family. His mother died young in the 30s but there's a mystery as to what happened to his father. I'm hoping the census will help with that.

It's a whole new level of research. Just so happy.

Oh, yes, that'll be massively helpful. Have you looked for WWII draft cards with his name?

Unfortunately it's an extremely common name. I also believe he would have been above draft age by 41. He was much older than my greatgrandmother. There's also a family story that he had another family in the area that he kept secret.

Eeee, Hunger Games! I just read the first book last night and ended up awake way past my bedtime to finish it :) Working on Catching Fire now!

Also...Dustin Nguyen? From 21 Jump Street?

Hunger Games is such a great series!!

LOL. Different Dustin Nguyen. He's an artist for DC comics.

An example of his work: http://duss005.deviantart.com/#/d4s32v9

He's one of my favorites.
