You know, if I were to star in a show (unlikely, unless it was 'useless crazy people who look like ex-junkies' and then I'd probably have a shot) I would not be able to help myself checking all the fic/fan comments.
You know, Andy Hallett and David Boreanaz used to look up Angel fic.
I saw Andy Hallett at a con once and he was all "the things people write... there was one story about Lorne and Angel in the shower with a bar of soap..."

And Jewel Staite seemed embarrassed about all the Firefly fic when someone asked her about it (like, seriously, con-people? It's bad ettiquete to ask tv actors what they think about fanfic... you don't draw attention to it! You just don't!)
I just keep thinking about the episode of "The X-Files" that was an homage to one of the long-time fanfic writers, after she'd passed away. It was really kind of awesome. But then I also presume she didn't write slash-fic.
Thanks to the internet, people can't live in that little bubble where they don't think actors know about the fic that people are writing about their characters anymore... as we can now plainly see. :)
