The events are awesome and such clever names. They even have exhibition events like the Olympics. :) I'm also considering doing the Cowl Jump in addition to Scarf Hockey. And there's also Frogging Trampoline. :)
I'll do a post with my intended project(s) and a list of all the events later in the week. :)
And thanks on the gym. It is going well. Just need to figure out how to keep motivated to go when I'm working from home too.
I figure scarves are always useful (at least when I go to cooler climates). You don't HAVE to watch the Olympics, but a lot of people do. I'm going to the cast-on event at my local yarn store (I'm competing on their team) on Friday. It will be 11 am-ish our time so that it's the actual time for the opening ceremonies. :)
I know they have several computers and there are a few techies there, so I wouldn't be surprised if we get a livestream set up.
You'll laugh and weep with me at this. After all my hemming and hawing at the pooling of the purple in that scarf I was knitting, I realized that it was too wide for the yardage I have. It wasn't going to be long enough for my liking. So I'm frogging it right now and am going to do the same pattern with the same yarn, just more narrow. At least I know the pattern in my sleep.
I came close to suggesting you do that when you were here and you were wondering aloud about length etc. but bit my tongue because I really, really know what it's like to frog something that far along for whatever reason. So yeah, sounds like a plan, should solve several problems and imho there is nothing wrong with knowing a pattern like the back of your own hand. It's come very handy for me on several occasions when I needed something to keep my hands and a part of my brain busy but really didn't have the energy etc. to do something new.
