For a messy person like me, a "safe place" to put something is generally not where I usually put things -- i.e. not part of the main midden heap/filing system. I put things in a safe place because I want to be able to find them again later ( Read more... )

I have something that's even labeled as the "unique box", which holds a lot of that sort of thing.

Putting something in a safe place can too often be more like outsmarting myself: finding it in a unique place only after after searched the likely locations (including heaps).

Out of date stuff can be archived anywhere or even shredded. Only the current stuff stays, or timeless things like a car title.

Also, it's bigger than a matchbox & thus holds more than one piece of paper.
