That time of year again (and a challenge!!)

Yes it is... now that Katrina and Rita and RESCU and everyone else has your money, it's time to ask again for donations to the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.
For those of you just joining the program (already in progress), this is a two-day, 39.3 mile walk to support the Avon Foundation. The Avon Foundation collects money from various (nefarious ( Read more... )

How much to have the hair if it is REALLY cut?

*IF* it's cut (short), perhaps I'll put it up on eBay -- and all funds will go (once again) to my Avon Walk account.

Do we need to donate the $50 at one time? For example, it would be easier for me to donate something every payday rather than $50/per time.

No problem... Avon will let you donate as little as $25 at a time with as few as three iterations. But the donation will show up as the TOTAL donation immediately.

If a person wins and wants it short/really short, you could sell the hair and donate that money to Avon too.

And before someone mentions Locks of Love, read this. Scroll down to the bottom of the page.

And from The Long Hair Community forums:

A little math using information from LoL's own website and the BBB:
LoL receives about 2000 donations per week, by mail.
That's 104,000 per year.
Let's say that only half of that is usable for wigs.(Or use another fraction, if you desire.)
That's 52,000 per year.
It takes 6-10 ponytails to make a wig.
Ok, let's say each one takes 10.
That's potentially 5200 wigs per year.
In fiscal year 2002, LoL provided 113 wigs.

LoL needs money to make wigs, not the hair itself.

Besides any/all of these reasons... LoL would only sell my hair "at fair market value" due to their Rule #8... grey hairs are no good for them.

Ok, there is something pretty funny about having a link from a public entry to a protected entry. I'll be left wondering about 2004 forever! lol

Whew! Made it just in time, before I died of curiosity! ;-)

S'okay... just remember that curiousity may have been the prime suspect in the fabled feline-attempted-murder case... but the veterinarian where they were taken was equipped with SAT-isfacti-ON and was able to revive it. ;-)
