Braaaaaaaaains! said the movie . ..
So. Avengers. Ate my brain.
I was very meh about the Hulk movie; Bruce Banner as played by Mark Ruffalo is now one of my favorite characters. I went into the movie 'shipping Steve/Natasha; came out with Bruce/Natasha as my total OTP.
And Natasha is totally a merger of BBC!Sherlock and Selene from the Underworld movies. Would it be possible to fit more of what I find awesome into a character? I doubt it. She is scary smart and kicks ass and is damaged and knows it and makes deadpan jokes in the middle of battle. I <3 her.
Bruce and Tony being geeky bros is completely adorable and I love it.
I missed Jane in this movie, but apparently Natalie Portman was busy being pregnant, which, alright, probably that takes precedence. *sigh* . . . would have been amusing as hell if they wrote it in, though.
I absolutely refuse to believe that Coulson is dead; the set-up for it to have all been a ruse is just too perfect. I will not believe in his demise until I am shown his still-recognizable but rotting corpse.
I really don't know that anybody but Joss Whedon could have pulled off this movie, because the greatest thing about it was the team dynamic; all these completely fucked up people and their slow realization of not-alone-ness. Did I mention I loved that? Because I loved that.
