1. First off, Kuimonodokoro Akira, aka Quest Manga. When I opened the book and saw POWER OF BAKA on the front flap, I knew I would love the humor. And I did: the characters are great, and their interactions are hilarious. (The omake at the end about all the side characters might have been my favorite part of the whole book.) But...I'm not so sure about the romance part. I think the author was trying to make them average guys (and she succeeded in that), but, for me, she pushed it a little too far, to the point where I had a hard time feeling the attraction between the main characters. So...overall, I liked it, but I'm not sure about it being second best BL manga of 2007. (Side note: For my friends that already bought the book, be forewarned that the story "Foggy Scene" does NOT have a happy ending. Actually...it doesn't have a sad ending, either, it's more like...the story just stops before we find out what happens.)

2. From the new Pet On Duty doujinshi:



I was so focused on that adorable gyuu there on the right that I almost missed the little kitty dialogue bubble. Hee! I don't have anything else to say about this, I just think that bubble is hilarious.

3. Watching the Hanakimi drama last month made me want to read the manga again, so the other day I got out the last couple volumes and started flipping through them. To my surprise, in volume 22 I discovered this:



Fandom is a small world after all, huh? I knew that the GBA versions of Gyakusai came out a few years back, but for me this really drove home exactly how long ago they were big in Japan. *sigh* All those years of doujinshi missed, what a waste...

But back to the picture itself; I feel like there's something not quite right about it...
