[The doghouse at 1667 Nelson Street now has a hastily banged-together door. It has also acquired a chimney, and there's usually a bit of smoke curling up out of it. There's a sign on the door, too, scribbled in pencil on a scrap of paper:]

[Becca's just out wandering. She does that a lot. But it isn't lost on her that the 'dog house' in this particular yard is looking a bit more like a doll house. Curious, she goes to knock politely on the door.]

...Hello?

[The door closes a bit.]

Woof.

[Nothing out of the ordinary here. Just a dog, in a doghouse. With a chimney. Ayup.]

Oh, well if it's only a dog, they don't need a chimney. And it must be raining on the poor doggie. I'll just put this big rock on top of the chimney to block the hole... [So she goes looking for a rock to back up her bluff.]

[And that would be Rob, peering suspiciously around the door as Becca looks for a rock to plug the chimney with.]

[You've attracted the interest of the Hell Girl. She goes over to look in the door]

[Rob's hidden in a flash, watching silently and waiting until the bigjob goes away. It's too late to try the "woof" trick, since she's already looking inside.]

[She's just looking around quietly. She looks rather interested in what might be in there.]

[She's awfully quiet for a bigjob. In Rob's experience, most of them would have said something like "Oh, a little fairy must live here!" or "Hello, please come out, I'm not going to hurt you" or something along those lines. But he's still staying hidden for now. Maybe there's no need to really do so in Mayfield, but it's habit, and habit is hard to break.]

[Tiffany has located the dog house and walked over. Lovely writing there Rob]

Getting settled in?

[He's awfully proud of that sign, you know. It doesn't seem to be helping, though, so maybe he'll add something like "KEEP OT" or "DANJR". His spelling leaves a lot to be desired. But anyhow, hi Tiffany! He looks up from his tattooing.]

Aye, but I'm no' plannin' on stayin', ye ken.

[Having a Feegle around is starting to help her confidence get back up.]

But it does kill the time. Boredom here can be agonzing.

I've been lookin' aroound, but the door oout o' here is hidden verra well. The crawstep disnae work here, and I cannae get intae dreams here.

[Just going in the back, smoking because the drone father would bitch at him about it if he--

Since then the hell have they had a doghouse? With a badly made sign at that? He walks up to it, just knocking on the door.] Oi!

[The door slams shut, and a voice shouts from inside.]

Gang awa', ye scunner! There's a big scary dog wi' lots o' teeths and dribbly fangs in here, ye ken!

I don't care, what the hell's with this dog house being here?! And who the hell are you?!

[The door opens and a rather poorly-made "dog" with buttons for eyes and scraps of metal for teeth is shoved out. Underneath the dog is a tiny blue man, currently hidden as he shakes the dog in Hayato's direction.]

Woof! Woof woof! Grrrrr arrrrr woof woof woof!

And dog spelled backward is...

[The woman looks at the rather bizarre doghouse]

[The occasional cry of "Crivens!" can be heard from inside the doghouse.]

[Prudence wins over curiosity and she walks away]
