Drood had better finish suddenly and unexpectedly halfway through, leaving almost all of its mysteries unresolved. Anything else would be cheating.

I'm rather fond of the book.

To be honest, I find that film adaptations of a book only work for me if I purposefully forget that there was a book in the first place :) Otherwise I end up feeling cheated and disappointed.

Yeah, certainly good news (He's about the only director I'd trust with any of these!), but a shame that these projects seem to have sidelined his plan to film 'At the Mountains of Madness'. I was hopeful after Hellboy II made a fair profit that they'd let him take a crack at that!
