Download Review in the traditional style for these kinds of things.
So...
Highlights,
· Camping with Chikin and Steve.
· Seeing many friends that I don’t get to see a lot. Cov Goth crowd included.
· Friendly camping neighbors. Great young couple that we had a blast with.
· My joints holding out camping over the entire weekend. This made me happy and able to see most of the bands I wanted.
· Megadeth on Saturday played Trust, Holywars and Symphony of destruction. I love Megadeth; Their set was ear blisteringly good. Only a minor peeve that the Deftones were billed higher.
· Slash on Sunday proved that he’s still got it and doesn’t need Axle. Miles Kenedy ripped out Sweet Child of Mine and paradise city better than I’ve ever heard Axle do ‘em and Lemmy’s guest spot blew me away.
· Breed 77 were an unexpected highlight and quite comedic to boot.
· Flint Shoed husky racing.
· Discovering Phil Collins Black Metal past.
· My beer on Saturday was a very special treat especially considering the heat. I’ve found that Tuborg is really quite nice.
· Uber prepared Chikin giving me a waterproof poncho as Sundays flood began.
· Hanging out in Camp
· Agreeing that next years fest is a certainty.
· The noodle bar.
· Being full on metal again.
· Loos that were clean. 120000 people and they were still good to use come Monday. LT should take note. 120000 people vs 3000 people. How hard can it be?
· Lastly and most importantly seeing my wife smile and be happy. Doesn’t happen nearly as much as it should.
Lowlights
· Download’s camp-site organization; well the lack of it really. They had poor crippled old me walking around carrying my tents for 2 hours. When they sent me across the entire site to find a pitch only to be told to walk back to the start, I had a sense of humor failure.
· Missing Anathema and Them Crooked Vultures. Two bands that I really wanted to see.
· Sunday’s downpour meant me missing Motorhead.
Missing Sarah and Cork. We are not an organized bunch.
Many other cool things happened but report is hampered by fading memory.
