i love living in a country where you're a criminal if you can't pay your bills. where the only time i've ever had healthcare was when i was on welfare. where i haven't had new glasses in 3 years and if they broke tonight, i couldn't get to work tomorrow, to have a job, to have the money, to pay old credit card bills that are suing me to pay them ( Read more... )

While it is crappy that the credit card co's prey on college freshman who don't really know any better...if you were a company who wasn't paid because someone was irresponsible, wouldn't you want to be paid? I did the same thing..was heavily in debt...but I take responsibility for my actions. I spent the money, knowing full well that I wasn't just going to get it for free...that sooner or later, I'd have to pay. And I did.

yes but my point is that these company's know and understand this from the beginning...but everybody who has someone waving money in their face doesn't have a choice...and everyone who exploits their power should somehow be punished. i had interest rates go up to like 23%. i had late fees FOR late fees, practically. i wish i had every receipt saves so i could go back and see how much i actually ever spent, how much i actually payed them back IN, also. because when you send your 40 dollar minimun payment when youre on the border of being over the limit, so then each month you have indeed payed 40 dollars, but you get an over the limit fee and a late fee and 20% interest...when you've been TRYing to remedy things for a year...when everyday they harass your grandmother with calls, when they have no business even talking to her...it's not right. fuck their interest. they want me to pay them like $3,300 for one card now that i probably only ever spent 2,000 of, and probably payed back over a 1000. i couldn't pay them 2 years ago, when they ( ... )

you are the epitome of self-absorbed consumer hypocrite.
you're whining that they don't "give 2 shits" about you? and it's your "right as an american" to not take responsibility for spending someone else's money? get a fucking job. already have one? good - get another one. better yet - get a fucking life.

to quote bill hicks - wah.

i can at least see not wanting to pay back those student loans - i mean - it obviously didn't do much for you.

Jesus. How fucking ignorant can you be? You knew there was interest. Are you that naive that you think they are just going to let you spend their money without wanting some compensation.
Everything you are complaining about is a result of your own doing. You got the card. You spent the money. You avoided paying them back. And don't think for a moment that I think that they are trying to sue you if you are making payments.
You are just one of many people who think that if they complain enough about the way things work in society, then it makes society wrong, and you right.
And another thing, if you owed me $3,300.00 I would be harrassing your family too. Maybe they should have taught you the meaning of self control in the first place.

ignorant, sure, so is everyone. a whiner, definately...i bitch all the time....usually just to make myself feel better, about things i already know the answer to. i'm not perfect, i don't claim to be...but i'm not idealistic, either. it's easy to criticize people when you walk on such a higher ground, but....honestly, i am just bitching in a fucking journal. what is your point in wasting your time arguing with me--are you trying to prove i dont know what i'm talking about? that i'm stupid and can't pay my bills? that it's my fault i'm being sued? i know that, congratulations. doesnt change the fact that i cant afford to get myself out of the situation i have now reached with the current income i have ( ... )
