EEEEEEE I was so glad to see this filled. So so glad.

I like the idea of the Crossroads Project, I like it a lot. I can see that.

I always appreciate when people point out how demanding both jobs are that Mycroft is you know MYCROFT and henceforth his life is Crazy, Lestrade's is just as apt to get their time tables all screwed up.

Loved all of the bits with Emma.

And loved that Mycroft was redacting things left and right from Lestrade's file to keep him in the clear with the yard. Hee.

Great job! I was getting nervous there for poor Mycroft. Three cheers for the Prime Minister! The Crossroads Project is a terrific idea, BTW.

I really loved how you gave Mycroft such a backstory and such a poignant, real relationship with Lestrade. Their protectiveness toward each other was really moving, and the threat to their future felt terribly real.

I think all fanfic is AU. Part of the reason I did this was to play with backstory that the show would probably never spend time on, since Mycroft is only a secondary character. I've made up enough details about the Crossroads Project that odds are it will never resemble anything that anyone else comes up with. There are loads of ways to explain what it means for Mycroft to be either "the British Government" or the most dangerous man in Britain (or both), and most of them are really fun to read about
