Gun Cultures and the Police

So I spent the weekend exploring Stonehenge and Bath on Saturday, then wandering around St. Peter's park, Regents Park, Soho and London's Chinatown. I will update more on that later, and pictures (of Stonehenge and Bath anyway) will go up on facebook ( Read more... )

While I have never gone out of state to see a band, I have traveled some hours to see them. So no, not crazy. Plus, I paid around $70 to see Metallica.

That's kind of reassuring, but apparently my thing will be much more expensive. :(

Too bad you missed the Dallas and Houston shows. In my opinion, who cares if it's $400 as long as you are enjoying yourself. You just gotta have fun sometimes. BTW, I think it's a 2 day drive to Atlanta.

Yup yup yup. The police in England do not carry guns and I believe it's been at least a decade since they have. I have to be honest though...I don't think I've ever heard anyone refer to them as "coppers." Actually, I don't think I've ever heard anyone outside a 1930s James Cagney mob movie call them coppers.

Since it is a reunion tour that might not happen again for a long while, I don't think the idea in general is that crazy. It just sounds unusual to me because you're generally very money conscious. And yes, a weekend trip to Atlanta plus two nights in a hotel is going to be a bit expensive. You've just gotta ask if this is what you want to spend a huge chunk of money on.

FYI, I checked a random Friday-Sunday trip in November on Orbitz, and it's around $400 round trip. So I guess, if you really want to go, start planning now and saving up money.

Yeah, you're probably right about the "coppers" thing. I could swear I've heard someone say it, but now I think I might have heard it in The Longest Friday or something. Or, you know, in my head...

I really REALLY want to see the Police, but I didn't realize a flight would cost $400. Omar seems to want to drive, but by the time we get there the concert would be over I think. I really have no idea how long it would take to get there. It sounds cheaper but may not be practical. As for the hotel thing, I was wondering what other alternative there would be for that, but I don't know what. Too bad it's not just the ticket for a concert in Austin. I'm dying to see them ( ... )

It would take at least 24 hours of driving to get to Atlanta methinks.

Also, are tickets on sale yet? If they went on sale already, are there still tickets available?
