Liberty or not

That is really what it boils down to -- do the various laws support and increase liberty or do they restrict liberty?
We can write the laws to move society in a particular fashion - there is no reason for a "drunk driving" law that specifies a maximum BAC when we can write the law to say "cause a problem, cause an accident AND have a BAC over X -- then your fine/time in jail is Y times more then if you weren't drunk".
To me that makes more sense. Does it matter if you caused an "accident" because you were sleepy or drunk, because you were texting or just not paying attention?
Not to the other people in the accident....all of them are under your control.
I support increasing people's rights -- increasing their liberty -- but that isn't to say that I support the abolition of all laws either.
Because somebody at ATF when they were Treasury said so.yeah_that_tomMay 11 2010, 20:57:14 UTC
I don't see how machine guns and SBRs are goofy. Only thing funny about SBRs is the fact that it used to be EIGHTEEN INCHES until the government surplussed a bunch of carbines to the public. Then instead of arresting themselves and making a load of people felons, they decided to change the law to 16" from 18, that's why there is a disparity between SBR and SBS barrel lengths

5.56mm in shorty barrels is pretty brutal on the ears, though. Be a lot better to go 12" and put a 4" shorty can on it to temper the noise and flash a bit for my tastes
