I'm smiling and crying at the same time. It's good that this parade is so open and peaceful in Paris. Compared to what's been here (at least what I saw in the TV)...whoa, I better not get into comparing these two countries. Mentality is the keyword. When most people still think that homosexuality is a disease...*le sigh and roll of eyes* I'm really embarrassed that even my own mum disapproves of gay marriages. Not that gay marriages are legal here, just saying.
Thank you for the pics. It seems like an amazing event; I'd really like to see one with my own eyes!
P.S: Alternative Gays? LOL, what does that mean? xD
We have close-minded people here as well, some people actually tried to stop the parade. The police caught them and when we saw them they were held in the garden of a church behind closed gates to keep them from attacking the crowd, they were yelling "Gay pride out of Europe".
It was my third Pride and the first time I saw that kind of thing happening but it made me sad and quite scared.
Other than that everything went well, I had a great time and every one was super friendy.
You're welcome, I really hope you get to see one someday. :)
As Alex said it's alternative as in alternative music meaning gays who don't listen to cliché gay music like Britney, Gaga etc.
Haha I know, I brought two of my girl friends with who are not used to hanging around the gay community and they spent the whole afternoon drooling and saying "It's not fair!" Why don't most straight guys look like that? *pouts*
