Have you ever considered getting tattoos to cover some of your stretch marks?
If you are anti-tattoo, I understand and I am not trying to sway you one way or another. Everyone in the world has some stretch mark somewhere. Some of the fittest people I know have massive amounts of stretch marks (I have bodybuilder friends and because their body changes from season to competition to season, they too have marks on them).
I went to my tattoo artist and said "make my stomach pretty" and I have a tattoo near some of my stretch marks on my hip.
For some tattoos have been able to cover up and make beautiful parts of their lives they don't wish to remember (like cutting scars and other things).
Welcome sugarforthought! Thanks for introducing yourself and for the brief intro. I really empathize with you. I too have struggled with my weight for most of my life. I've yo-yo'd with my weight a lot after high school and just like you, and a lot of women as well, I have faded stretch marks that cover me as well. They don't really bother me that much though because I can always wear clothes to cover them. hehe. This year though, I really have to take control of my weight and do something about it. Not only for myself and to look and feel good, but because I have a health condition. If I don't, it will get worse
