Recently I was out visiting my grandmother, who lives on a farmhouse near an Amish settlement.  While I was there, an Amish mother and daughter came by in a buggy asking if they could have some of my grandmother’s rhubarb.  (How often do you ever type a sentence like that?  Wow.)  I tried to talk to the daughter while her mother gathered the ( Read more... )

Did your grandma make a trade for the rhubarb? It would have been cool to talk to the daughter, although I can understand the shyness. What did you decide to do about med school?

My grandmother gave her the rhubarb for free because she's just that nice. And I assume the med school question is for Kate...sheesh. :)

I got confused, you guys post so infrequently that I confused your handles.

Plus it just seemed more like a Kate post :) She seems more like the type of person I'd expect to pester random Amish kids. Btw I'm gonna be up in NYC on the 21st for job interviews (provided I get any at the career fair, but I probably will), I'm only gonna be there for the day (then I'll go back to my grandma's house on long island) but will you be back in the city by then?

I'm not going back until the end of August, but good luck with your interviews! Maybe you can come visit again once school starts up.
