It's Michael Bay that's doing something, but Doug made a commentary on it.

... Michael Bay is making the Turtles aliens instead of mutants in the new movie.

Well... Considering some of the things that are (or at least were) canon in some versions of turtles, just making them aliens isn't actually that bad.
They used to travel the galaxy enough to pretty much make them aliens anyway. And, when you remember their choice of transportation there really isn't much Michael Bay can do to make it more ridiculous than it's already been...
And that was one of the BEST versions of TMNT, too. >_>
