This place must be more popular than it looks! I guess post-apocalyptic modern is in style or something. Is this a regular occurrence?

We're in an alien city called Discedo, in an alien planet whose name I can't recall learning and monsters lurk around the corners after darkness falls. And we also happen to be some sort of experiment because apparently scientists run the scenes.

That's pretty much the gist of what I got explained to me. Does it help any?
