- got a free sesame red bean paste ball and a free crab rangoon at Mee Sum at Pike Place somehow, which was exactly the snacks the two of us needed

I finished my first week of work (rather than training) on Saturday night. Working 44 hours in one week (would have been 45 but we didn't have mandatory overtime on Thanksgiving) is rather exhausting, and that's my main excuse for not posting since the eleventh ( Read more... ) -

So yesterday at zomBcon I shook hands with Malcolm McDowell (who earlier had shushed Bailey during a trivia contest) and George Romero and Jeffrey Reddick and Stephen Lindsey. So, no Bruce Campbell, but definitely a respectable assortment of awesome.

Barring my dad's physical therapists, who come at the worst times possible and the whole "having to do the dishes, make the coffee, and lots of household chores" thing, I have been having some amazingly good times of late. I still am not getting good at seeing other people besides Bailey and his household, but I did hang out with Brittany on Monday ( Read more... ) -

Geez, I knew I'd been busy, but I didn't realize I'd been THAT busy.
Working 40 hours a week, seeing Bailey often enough and for long enough that it doesn't feel like a drive-by relationship, trying to have a social life outside my relationship with Bailey (Shaun of the Dead at the Brotherhood this Sunday will accomplish both points, plus I get to ( Read more... ) -

So that's the first two weeks of training done.
I worked 13 paid hours today- 5 for Parks and Rec, 8 for my new job. But (maybe it was the double shot latte talking) I'm only starting to feel tired. -

Work update: the hot drink machine at work produces a beverage almost, but not quite entirely unlike tea.
Ellen calls it murky pond water, because I took it with "lightener." I'm afraid to drink it sans mellowing chemicals. -

First week of training went really well. I got the highest score in the class on the first assessment, consistently get good feedback on the roleplay exercises, and really enjoy most of my classmates ( Read more... ) -

I can legally drive all by myself now! Yay!
Also, the dentist thinks I've got a touch of scurvy. She didn't call it that, but she said I needed vitamin C and that my gums are taking too long to heal, which sounds like scurvy to me! I don't know why this makes me happy, except that it's so very pirate-y/Arctic explorer and yet easily curable.
